Discovering the differences that occur when applying varying combinations of materials. Lampshade fabric covered in latex and polyurethane and then cut and stitched with floss.

Work in progress; I'm experimenting with foam, found objects, polyurethane and latex rubber.

This week I reshot the stack of sponges expanding. I made a "closed system" by having the water from a leaking plastic bag facilitating the sponges to expand. I created a white set for the video to be shot in by filling in the space that two perpendicular white boards created with foam spray. The video wouldn't upload on vimeo.

Also the insulated boxes I made the first week have started to turn yellow from the sunlight. The sun stain is a really nice natural timeline- it created a surface of retention without a change in depth.

I was trying to show the "muscle shake" through a photograph taken with a slow shutter speed but the duration the shutter had to stay open in order to record the movement let a lot of light in and made it hard to get a good photo.

Trying a different method inside.

This is the final photo and instead of the documentation of my movement being the most prevalent or important part I found that I was more excited about the illusion made from the angle the photo was taken. Also, this one had a 20 second exposure so my face is also shifted a little. I think that the overall distortion in this is the strongest aspect.

Over the past week or so I cut a square out of one of the walls of my small box construction. I put a piece of tracing paper to fit over the hole, this way I can project from the back rather than the front. This enhances the darkness around the box, and makes it so there is no view of the projector while looking at it. I bought a mini projector that omits less light, which for right now I am liking- a bit more eerie and the quality is bluer.
